Abe is Growing Up!!!

As you can see, Abe is able to sit up now! He's been sitting on his own for about two weeks now, and is very happy about it. Thanks to an aunt and some cousins of mine, he has this great chair that hooks onto the table that he sits in to eat. He's getting closer to crawling, but still not ready to go just yet. He LOVES and absolutely ADORES David! David started back to school last week (just yesterday w/ students), and when he was getting ready to leave, Abe began to cry! It was so heartbreaking.

As an update on what is happening w/ us, we are reaping what we have sown in the garden...and loving it! I bottled some beans (pressure cooking) for the first time and have lived to tell my story. Nothing blew up! It was great. I got 9 pints, which isn't a lot, but this year was just an experiment to make sure I could do it. I also bottled apricots, made apricot jam, apricot butter, and just yesterday some peach jam. We've used all of our peaches on one of our trees (there weren't that many to begin with), and we're just waiting for our other tree to ripen. I'll be bottling some of those. We're eating a LOT of corn. Thank you, David, for planting, picking, and shucking(?) that for us!! David is in charge of keeping the earwigs outside. Also, we're having our patio re-done. It's almost finished now...they just have to spray this powder stuff off, then seal it with the shiny coat and we'll be set for winter! David went fishing w/ Ivan last week and they caught some nice trout that we had for dinner on Sunday. Yum.
